PixelStick & Filming in progress
LBM is currently using the PixelStick for a film in progress (launched T.B.A.) Here is an example of what the PixelStick can do in this little snippet.

Another piece of equipment available for hire from LBM
LBM Has just purchased the Kessler Pocket Jib. The pocket jib is a great tool for the videographer/film maker who wants a cinematic effect to the film but has limited space and only a small crew/single person shooter to work with. The jib is light with multiple counter balance points and can be carried by a single individual, perfect for DSLR/mirrorless shooters. Check out our equipment hire section for more details.
(Below) is a snipet from a recent shoot using the jib which will give you an idea to some of the shots you can achieve.
Baltic Clay
LBM has been working with a local ceramics studio collective Baltic Clay on raising awareness of their organisation and documenting their different practices and events. Lately we have been working on their most recent event at the Liverpool Light Night titled 'Clay Lab'. The event lasted throughout the whole of Light Night. Baltic Clay encouraged anyone to drop into their studios for this family friendly event. They asked the public to participate in a changing clay sculpture. After receiving 100 bags of clay, the public were asked to shape, mould and sculpt the mound into whatever they wanted. LBM was on hand to document this non permanent creation throughout each stage through video documentation, vox pop interviews, photography and timelapse. Below is the 1st stage of the edit the photography with video edit to follow.
LBM has a new toy that is available for hire
LBM Has just purchased the Edelkrone slider. The slider is battery powered and can give you consistent automated results for slider shots, panning , time-lapse and stop motion animation.
Check out the video below, it shows a small selection of shots from a recent shoot that demonstrates the smoothness of the slider.
Here is the final video from LBM for Absolute Opera's Rehearsal Series. The video was filmed at Liverpool Town Hall and features Roy Weissensteiner & Rachael Russell in preparation for the International River Festival.
Town Hall photo & Video Shoot
Here is a little time-lapse of a recent shoot we did in Liverpool Town Hall. It was a long day but we got some quality footage and photographs out of it. We will upload the video and photographs soon !
No excuses not to go out & shoot a blockbuster movie now ?
Well, maybe not or at least edit one ;-)
Interesting insight into how and why the Deadpool movie was edited in Premiere Pro CC (one of the favourite editing tools of LBM).
Have a look at this video from Adobe.
Go ! A New Equipment Addition To LBM
We have just added another nifty bit of kit to our rental page. We now have Go Pro Hero 3's available. We are sure that you don't need much of an introduction to one of the most talked about cameras on the market. However, if you do wish to read more please go to our equipment hire section on our website.

Instant Film Printing From Your Smart Phone
L.B.M Has just acquired a nifty little piece of kit that lets you print instant films (like Polaroid) straight from your smart phone or (small) tablet. The folks at Impossible Lab, have devised this gizmo which merges analogue and digital technologies together. It can also save you a few £ if you like to produce instant films as the cost of a pack of 'instants' can be quite costly (especially if you make any mistakes). Simply choose an image from your Smart Phone, use the free editing App and away you go. L.B.M. will be using the Instant Lab for our Workshops, Lessons and Fine Art Prints.
Here is a little more info (narrated by Werner Herzog, just to make it even more surreal ! )

Light Painting PixelStick Projections. 1st Experiments
Last night we tried a few of the demo settings on the PixelStick hard drive. It takes a little bit of getting used to. You have to bracket your photo exposures for the length of time of the projected image, background, foreground and depth of field. You can also experiment with the shape and form of each image depending on how long you make your projection. It's a good start and we can't wait to upload some of our own images now and really experiment and push a few boundaries with this gizmo. Watch this (dark) space !
360 Degree Camera
LBM have just recently purchased a new 360 degree camera. The 'Theta 360' produced by Ricoh takes x 2 photographs or videos with a 180 degree perspective on each side of the camera. Once you have taken your photo or video you upload your footage into the conversion software that will allow you to combine the two viewpoints merging them into a sphere like frame. The best part of it is that you can explore any part of the image you like by swiping directions on your Smart Phone/Computer with the App or view it and control it straight to YouTube. Stay tuned to LBM's blog for updates , experiments and interesting perspectives using the 'Theta 360'.
